Earlier today at the New York Auto Show Pontiac G8 reveal, the lights dimmed, a disco ball descended, and 50 Cent walked on stage singing Joe Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful” to the strings of the New York Philharmonic. I haven’t seen a room full of automotive journalists that teary since Ford towed 12,000 lbs. worth of diced onions on stage for the F-450 Super Duty launch. If you can’t tell, they keep me locked in the Media Room during auto shows, so I actually have no idea what really happens at these things.
