Shia LaBeouf: Car Crash “Eye Opening, Terrifying”

"The car hit me at 70 mph," the 22-year-old told Entertainment Tonight over the weekend while promoting his new flick, Eagle Eye.
"It was one of the biggest things that’s happened to me, for sure, in my life," he added. "I’m grateful to be here."
LaBeouf was partying at West Hollywood’s Troubadour Club before the July 27 crash that flipped his truck. After the accident, he was booked on suspicion of DUI (police later said the other driver was at fault for running a red light).
LaBeouf underwent extensive hand surgery to repair two of his fingers, which were "pretty mashed," in the accident, Transformers director Michael Bay later said. (His injury has been written into the movie’s sequel.)
He recently told Access Hollyood he will have more surgery "to be back to 100 percent."
He said he was thankful his accident injured only his hand.
Said LaBeouf, "It could have been something else."
