Basketball star Charles Barkley was arrested early Wednesday in Arizona on suspicion of drinking and driving.

The 45-year-old former NBA player reportedly ran a stop sign in the Old Town section of Scottsdale at about 1:30 a.m. Gilbert police Lt. Eric Shuhandler says police pulled Barkley over, took him to a DUI mobile processing center (see picture), and administered a blood test after declining to submit to a breath test. After Barkley was processed, he was cited and left in a cab.

Barkley played 16 NBA seasons for the Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets.

This might spoil his plans to become governor of his home state of Alabama in 2014. In October, he announced that he would be a candidate!

Starting New Year with court appearance

Glamour girl Katie Price has always had a tumultuous relationship with her ex boyfriend Dwight Yorke.

But it seems they have finally found something in common – the love of speed.

Jordan was caught speeding in April and faces Brighton magistrates court on January 7th.

Yorke was banned from driving for six months after he was caught speeding at 85mph earlier this year.

And now Katie is facing the same fate leaving Harvey’s visitation with his dad in jeopardy.

‘Dwight pleaded with magistrates to keep his license so he could visit Harvey, but he was banned.’ said a source.

‘Now Katie faces the same fate.’

‘If she loses her license then it will make the trip to Sunderland to visit Dwight almost impossible.’

The Crown Prosecution Service say Katie broke a 30mph speed limit in Brighton, earlier this year.

But she is also in trouble for failing to supply information about who was driving.

My source added: ‘Katie didn’t appear in court for her first hearing and now she has to appear.

‘She is worried because she faced similar charges five years ago.

‘The police didn’t act on a warrant to arrest her within 12 weeks and she escaped prosecution.

‘This time she may not be so lucky.’

Her husband Peter Andre was banned for six months in 2005.

His lawyer claimed he needed to drive Price around after the birth of their son Junior but his license was removed for six months

Ever since the Big Three auto makers, GM, Ford, and Chrysler went to Washington to get a peace of that yummy taxpayer bailout pie, I’ve been wondering what the hell Chrysler was doing there. I mean, who the hell drives a Chrysler anyway? Apparently has-been heartthrob Billy Zane does. In these economically trying times the The Phantom star has downgraded from his dark gray Audi to a convertible Chrysler Sebring.

Bond is all about the Aston Martin, and now that Ford has sold the British brand, it may be having a its own bit of regret for missing out on the promotional material. Possibly to get over its quantum of solace, the Ford Ka will be featured in the new James Bond flick, ‘Quantum of Solace’ (U.S. premiere November 14th).

Unfortunately for Ford, it isn’t Bond piloting its little car, but instead the ubiquitous feisty sidekick/sex toy. But Ford is still taking the time to do plenty of shameless promotion. The actress in the movie Olga Kurylenko is having a series of promotional programs highlighting he career so far, and Ford wants you to know because she will also be likely seen with her Ka. Effective December 31, 2008, GM and golf-pro Tiger Woods will amicably part ways and end their 9-year long endorsement deal. Mark LeNeve, GM North America VP of Sales/Marketing said, “Tiger has been a great friend to GM and a fantastic asset through the years helping to bring consumer awareness to many new GM products. In light of the news coming out of Washington,” LaNeve continued, “This decision is the result of discussions that started earlier in the year and the timing of this agreement with these other activities is purely coincidental.” Said Tiger Woods, “I am very proud of the long standing partnership I’ve had with GM and have enjoyed being a part of the company’s dramatic product evolution. We’ve had a lot of fun together and I participated in some unique and rewarding activities. We’ve enjoyed a tremendous partnership over the years and we will maintain strong ties with the many people at GM we call friends.”
